Potential spoilers ahead so before we begin, this review is for the third instalment of a series and I recommend reading the first and second reviews first to avoid confusion. To read those reviews click here:

Second review
Bitten by Love is the third instalment of the Vampire Genesis Chronicles, written by Lara Bronson. In this instalment we begin in current day, after Petra time traveled home, and are met with a slightly different Gabriel than before. Petra and Gabriel begin their life together in modern times, but are quickly faced with life threatening dangers and enemies. Petra and Gabriel's world is flipped upside down in a matter of weeks and their marriage is beginning to crumble. Will they be able to fix it before it's to late?
Introduction
As the series continues, I just keep getting more and more excited. I'm still in love with Petra and Gabriel's story and was excited to see how Lara would write in Gabriel's character into modern times. (To mention again for those that may not have gone back to read the previous reviews, a glossary and recap were included, which I find extremely useful. The glossary includes information about Romanian words and folk laws that may not be common knowledge to a lot of people.) I was so excited to see Petra and Gabriel's relationship evolve in modern time and was glad to finally meet Petra's friends and family. I loved Mei'a character and I would love to have her as a friend, she was strong and opinionated and fought for Petra in her times of need. As for Gabriel's character, I didn't really like how his new character had changed. I really wanted Gabriel's sweetness and kindness to carry over, but it didn't for me, and I found myself mad at him a lot of the book. I know a lot of people would like the newer version of Gabriel but it just wasn't for me. I did however, love hearing about the journey Gabriel took to be with Petra again and would love a novella written in his perspective and a more fleshed out story of his transformation. The spice definitely amped up a lot more than the first book, but still doesn't include mature language and suitable for teen reading. I loved the use of more creatures again this book, and loved the tie-in of the history of Vlad the Impaler and Dracula. I enjoyed how scenes from the first book tied in, such as the smells, and the way they now get connected to Gabriel. I also love that there is still danger upon them and are still having adventures even through the happy times, it just adds a deeper level to the story for me and keeps me reading on. I enjoyed the addition of new characters, but also ones from the past, some that may not necessarily be friends. I am so excited for what Lara Bronson has to write next in the story of Petra and Gabriel.

Pros
Forever a good series!
Great character development and thought processes.
The story is a lot stronger than in previous books in my opinion.
Cons
I didn't like the shift in Gabriel character, but I know a lot of others will.
Conclusion
To conclude, the third book was absolutely fantastic and I am impatiently waiting for the fourth and final book! The trigger warnings for this book are: insinuation of sex, swearing (twice), murder/ kidnap attempt, fighting and violence, so the book could easily be read by teens and older. I recommend this book to anyone who loves a paranormal romance with male characters who treat you like a princess! My rating for this book is a 4/5 stars!
